Woman in Recovery After Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in Lowell

Mariah Martell says her mom Donna is going to survive after a hit-and-run Tuesday night in Lowell.

Martell says her mother was trying to cross the street at the corner of Middlesex and West Aldea in a mobility scooter when a driver hit her. She had even looked both ways, but she says the driver kept speeding towards her.

She now has a broken pelvis and a femur sticking out of her leg.

The manager of a nearby Dunkin Donuts says officers stopped by to get surveillance footage, but it's unclear whether the incident was caught on camera.

Law enforcement says they are looking for an SUV with front end damage, last seen racing down Middlesex Street toward Chelmsford.
