Wynn Resorts Unveli Design of Mass. Casino

Wynn Resorts has unveiled a long-awaited redesign of its proposed Massachusetts casino.

The company is now proposing a curving bronze glass hotel tower closely resembling its signature resort on the Las Vegas strip.

Casino officials say the tower would be about the same 24-story height as the previous design but wider, allowing for more guest rooms.

The redesign was unveiled Thursday at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission meeting.

Wynn proposes a $1.6 billion complex for roughly 33 acres on the Everett waterfront overlooking Boston.

But the commission had deemed Wynn's initial hotel design too generic and asked the company to redesign it.

New state Attorney General Maura Healey also addressed the commission Thursday. She said her office will submit recommendations around gambling consumer protection issues soon.
