Brattleboro, Vermont, Badly Hit as Irene Tore Through Southern VT

(NECN) - NECN's affiliate WPTZ tells us how families were caught off guard in West Brattleboro, Vermont, and forced to quickly evacuate their homes.

In 15 minutes, one home went from completely dry to completely underwater as Irene tore through southern Vermont.

Roads are completely washed out, there is debris everywhere, quiet creeks became raging waters, businesses and neighborhoods are underwater, and cars are even getting sucked down stream.

Brattleboro wasn't even the worst hit area in Vermont.
