Judge Denies Odgren Reduced Conviction Request

(NECN) - A Massachusetts judge will not reduce the conviction of a teenager serving a life sentence for a deadly high school stabbing.

Middlesex superior judge Jane Haggerty denied the request by lawyers for John Odgren to reduce his first-degree murder conviction to second-degree murder. The move would have made him eligible for parole in 15 years.

Odgren was 16 when he stabbed and killed 15-year-old James Alenson at Lincoln-Sudbury High School
