Mass. Doctor Linked to 1993 Killing Dies in Prison

BOSTON (AP) - A doctor who was ordered to pay a $15 million
civil judgment in the killing of his girlfriend has died in a
prison hospital.

A spokeswoman for the state Department of Correction said
Timothy Stryker died Wednesday at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in
Boston. Prison officials would not release the cause, but said his
death had been anticipated.

Stryker, an endocrinologist, was never criminally charged in the
1993 death of Dr. Linda Goudey (GOW'-dee), a Stoneham obstetrician.
In 2006, a civil jury ordered him to pay $15 million to Goudey's
family in their wrongful death lawsuit.

Stryker was serving a four-year prison sentence after pleading
guilty in a perjury scheme. Prosecutors said he enliste two men to
help him concoct a story about seeing Goudey with another man.
