McLaughlin Facing New Charges

(NECN) -  The former head of the Chelsea Housing Authority is due in court Thursday to face new charges.

Michael McLaughlin is accused of illegally soliciting contributions to support the political campaign of former Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray.

Murray says he never asked McLaughlin to raise campaign money.

Next week, McLaughlin starts a three-year prison sentence, after pleading guilty to federal charges that he deliberately hid his salary from federal regulators.

He's due to report to federal prison next week.
