(NECN) - Massachusetts public health officials are asking people who may have come into contact with a skunk at Six Flags New England in Agawam to contact them after the animal tested positive for rabies.
According to the Department of Public Health, a woman was visiting the amusement park July 31 when she noticed three skunks. One of the skunks approached her and bit her foot.
The skunk tested positive for rabies at the Hinton state Laboratory Institute.
Officials ask that anyone who visited the park and was bitten or scratched by a skunk between July 21-31 to contact their healthcare provider immediately.
