You're Engaged! What's It Like to Start Wedding Planning Process?

(NECN) – When you’ve just gotten engaged, it can be tough to start the wedding planning process.

Wedding Planner Amy Kimball of Amy Kimball Events joins NECN to take you through the steps.

The first wedding decisions include finding out the budget, making priorities and possibly having a wedding planner.

Six to 12 months before the wedding, you should book venues, hire a photographer, band, and caterer. It’s also a good time to buy a wedding dress.

Three to six months before the wedding, you should book a florist, book the honeymoon and hire musicians.

Kimball says a florist can help you pull together concepts that you’ve been thinking about.

When there is a little under three months left, you should send invitations and confirm vendors.

When all is said and done, Kimball says, "Start to breathe, and have fun on your wedding day."
