Hopsters has closed up its craft beer shop at Boston Public Market following a dispute with the indoor market over rent and the lease, making way for what executives say will be a new beer shop and potential taproom.

The craft beer store, called Hopsters Alley, has sat inside the market since 2015, but according to a December decision in Boston Municipal Court, Hopsters shop owner Lee Cooper and Boston Public Market management have disputed how long the lease was for. The decision also said Hopsters didn’t pay rent on time in August, and didn’t pay rent in January or February 2018.

Boston Public Market sued Hopsters in February 2018 to evict them from the downtown indoor marketplace within 30 days, according to the decision, but Hopsters remained on the premises until January.
