O'Donnell Responds to Allegations of Misused Funds

(NECN/CNN: Middletown, Deleware) - 'There's no truth to it.'

That's how Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell responded to allegations that she misused campaign funds.

The Tea Party-backed Senate-hopeful from Delaware came under fire by a watchdog group Monday.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission-- saying O'Donnell used campaign funds to pay her rent and other expenses.

While speaking to reporters Monday night, O'Donnell said the allegations are false-- but skirted any questions specifically related to funds

"Why are you listening to a liberal organization in the first place? They're scared that the person that Harry Reid called his pet is not going to get this seat. The momentum surrounding this campaign is obvious, that's why they're creating baseless accusations.
I am confident that we have been ethical. We have not, I personally have not misused the campaign funds. We have our FEC lawyer, a great attorney answering those charges if it ever goes anywhere."

O'Donnell faces Democrat Chris Coons in November's mid-term elections.
