Boxer Announcement Prompts Scott Brown Parody Twitter Account

The account jokes that the former Massachusetts Senator might move to California to run for Senate there

Give them this much - Scott Brown's critics are quick on their feet.

Shortly after California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer announced Thursday that she would not seek re-election in 2016, a parody Twitter account popped up joking that Brown might move to California to run for Boxer's seat. Here are a couple of the tweets that were sent out:

Brown, a former Republican Massachusetts Senator, took a lot of heat last year when he moved to New Hampshire and ran for Senate there. Democrats repeatedly called him a "carpetbagger," and he went on to lose a close race to Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen in the November election.

Meanwhile, the real Scott Brown was in his former home state of Massachusetts on Thursday to attend the inauguration of Republican Gov. Charlie Baker. New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan, a Democrat, was also inaugurated on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Baker announced that Elizabeth Guyton, Brown's former campaign spokesperson, was joining his administration as press secretary.
