New England politicians on both sides of the aisle condemned Tuesday's truck attack that killed eight and injured 11 others in New York City, while offering praise to the first responders who came to the aid of the wounded.
"My thoughts are with New York City tonight," Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton tweeted. "New Yorkers have suffered this cowardly hatred before - and they've risen again before, too."
"Devastated for the victims of today's attack in Manhattan," added U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III of Massachusetts. "Violence in our communities must end."
"Boston's thoughts, prayers & condolences to all those in New York who are suffering due to this senseless act of violence," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said.
"I am horrified to learn of today’s deadly attack in New York City that has claimed innocent lives and my heart goes out to the families and loved ones impacted by this senseless act of terrorism," Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said. "My thoughts and prayers remain with New York and I commend the first responders who acted quickly to help the victims."
