Boston Mayor Walsh pays visit to Horizons for Homeless Children

'This is the part of the job that I enjoy...spending time with the kids, playing with them, enjoying them,' says Walsh (Published Tuesday, March 18, 2014)

(NECN: Boston) - One in every 45 children in the United States is homeless, making them eight times more likely to repeat a grade in school.

Horizons for Homeless Children is providing children with the tools necessary to succeed.

Helping them with that mission is Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

Mayor Walsh visited the Horizons facility in Roxbury this week. He spent some time with the families there, letting them know he takes the issue of homelessness in the city very seriously.

All next week, NECN is asking our viewers to help give a homeless child the chance to learn, play and thrive. Support Horizons for Homeless Children by donating now.
