Broadside: Fisher on Republican Race for Mass. Governor

(NECN) - Mark Fisher, a candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor in Massachusetts, delivered quite the rousing speech at the 2014 GOP convention earlier this month.

Things became complicated when the ballots for Governor were counted. Fisher is now taking his battle for the nomination to another arena. He joined Jim Braude on Broadside to discuss his situation.

Fisher said he received 15% of the vote to earn a spot on the Republican primary ballot. The state said he did not. The Republican State Committee even said Fisher earned enough of the vote.

When asked if he thought an intentional miscount was conducted to keep him off the ballot, Fisher said, "I don't know." Fisher added, "I sure hope not," when asked if he thought Charlie Baker had any involvement.

"We've asked for a recount," said Fisher. A hopeful resolution is expected to take place this weekend. If a resolution cannot be reached, Fisher's circle is set to take legal action to get to the bottom of this pressing issue.

Fisher still intends to endorse his party's nominee even if he does not make the ballot.
