How Did Baker Best Coakley?

Political analyst Jennifer Braceras and former Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Phil Johnston joined NECN to discuss.

How did Democrats get it wrong and GOP get it right in mid-term elections?

Political analyst Jennifer Braceras and former Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Phil Johnston joined NECN to discuss.

In the Massachusetts governor election, Republican Charlie Baker bested Democrat Martha Coakley. Johnston said that he attributes Coakley's loss to the competitive primary she battled through and the fact that $2 million was spent on campaign ads to deter voters.

In contrast, Braceras said that she believes Coakley did not take responsibility for her loss, saying that Coakley essentially blamed the Koch brothers for her loss.

Braceras and Johnston also discussed how the Republicans have gained majority in the Senate.
