The Rhode Island Department of State has unveiled a new website aimed at getting millennials to register to vote.
WJAR-TV reports the website launched Monday. It's designed to work on smartphones and uses question-and-answer prompts to guide people between the ages of 18 and 35 toward voter registration.
The site asks users if they're going to vote and provides two answer choices: "Yes" and "I don't know."
The "yes" option takes users to the voter registration page. Picking the second option prompts questions about why not and offers common reasons for why millennials don't vote. When a reason is selected, a YouTube video that tries to persuade people to vote appears on the screen.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 9.
