Rand Paul Hires More NH Operatives

U.S. Sen. of Kentucky is readying for a presidential bid

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has hired two more New Hampshire operatives for his political action committee as he readies for a presidential bid.

The committee announced Thursday the hiring of David Chesley, a senior adviser for the state Republican party, as political director and state Rep. Tammy Simmons as operations director. The two will work under Michael Biundo, a long-time New Hampshire operative who joined Paul's team and now serves as chief New England strategist. Paul is visiting the first presidential primary state this weekend.

In a release, Biundo said Simmons and Chesley have "keen understandings on how to build a statewide team."

Chesley previously served as the Republican National Committee's state director and worked for former U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass. Simmons chairs the Manchester Republican City Committee.
