Pedroia and Victorino Say Red Sox Are Focused on Game 6, Not Game 7

(NECN) – Shane Victorino and Dustin Pedroia spoke ahead of World Series Game 6.

Victorino said he’s feeling a lot better and he’s a go for the Red Sox in Game 6.

Pedroia said they have the same focus they’ve had since day one.

“We’ve got a game today. We’re going to try our best to go out there and execute our pitch, and play the game the right way and try to win that game. You know, this is a game on our schedule that we have to play and try to win. That’s what we’re going to focus on,” Pedroia said.

Victorino said he agrees 100-percent.

“We’re focused on today. We’re not worried about tomorrow. If tomorrow comes, tomorrow comes...what we have tonight, we understand the magnitude. There’s a lot of excitement…we all understand. We’re just going to go out there and give 100-percent, leave it all on the field. Win or lose. It is what it is.”

Both Victorino and Pedroia have won gold glove before and they won again this year.

Pedroia said it’s a huge honor to win that award.

Victorino said he agrees.

Pedroia said his expectations of the team haven’t changed from last spring training to this one.

“Your goal of playing for the Red Sox every year is to try to be at this point and win the World Series…this is why we play, to try to be the best team in the game. Next year, we’re going to come in and our goal will be to win the World Series, and that’s never going to change here.”
