Bruins Blow Out Leafs, 6-3, to Snap 3-Game Skid

Six goals from six scorers helped the Boston Bruins snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday night in a 6-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden.

The Bruins (15-10-4) got contributions up and down the lineup, including the first goal of the season for defenseman Torey Krug.

Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson opened up the scoring at 11:20 of the first period, followed by a power play goal for David Backes at 8:54 of the second and Krug's offering at 17:45 of the middle period.

Danton Heinen scored 1:47 into the third period to make it 4-0 Boston before Toronto (20-9-1) finally found its way on to the scoreboard but much too little, too late in a game that took a physical turn come the final frame.

Matt Grzelcyk and Chris Wagner received game misconducts for fighting in the third period, as the duo dropped the gloves with Zach Hyman and Ron Hainsey, respectively. Hyman also received a game misconduct, thanks in part to a blindside hit to the shoulder of Charlie McAvoy, playing in just his second game back for the Bruins after missing a month and a half with a concussion

David Krejci and Ryan Donato also scored for the Bruins tonight; with his goal, Krejci moved past Cam Neely into 10th place on the all-time scoring list for the Black and Gold, with 591 career points.

Brad Marchand had three assists for the Bruins, while Jarsoslav Halak made 32 saves.

It was Boston's first game scoring more than three goals since a Nov. 11 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, when the Bruins dropped four goals and last season's Stanley Cup runners-up.

Boston now has 34 points and is in fourth place in the Atlantic Division and atop the wild-card standings in the Eastern Conference playoff structure. The Bruins are back in action tomorrow night on the road in Canada's capital to take on the Ottawa Senators at 5 p.m.
