Count the New England Patriots among those who are thrilled with rapper Meek Mill's release from prison.

Within hours of the news that the rapper would be released on bail following a ruling by Pennsylvania's highest court, the New England Patriots shared two old photos of Meek Mill with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, along with the simple message, "Justice for our friend. Finally free."

Kraft visited the rapper in prison earlier this month along with mutual friend Michael Rubin, the co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers. Rubin has visited Meek Mill in prison numerous times and has repeatedly advocated for his release.

"Amazing young man. I know how I'd feel if I was in the situation he is," Kraft said outside the prison after visiting with Meek Mill. "Every time I see him, I just come away more impressed. He’s very intelligent. And makes it clear to me we have to do something with criminal justice reform."

Kraft described the entire situation at the time as "just sad."

"This guy's a great guy. (He) shouldn't be here," he added.
