Tom Brady Not Expected at Patriots Offseason Workouts

To the surprise of no one, Tom Brady won't be showing his face at Gillette Stadium this week.

The New England Patriots begin their voluntary offseason workouts Monday, and the 41-year-old quarterback isn't expected to attend, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported.

Rapoport also added that Brady plans to "bulk up" this offseason, a strange development that our Tom E. Curran will have more on later Monday.

Brady skipped both offseason workouts and organized team activities last year, drawing criticism before he led the Patriots to their sixth Super Bowl title.

Considering his success in 2018, few expected Brady to attend this year's workouts, and ESPN's Mike Reiss reported a few weeks ago that the veteran QB likely will follow the same plan to "focus more on family time."

Brady's teammates already are streaming into Foxboro, though, as players begin preparation for organized team activities starting May 20.
