Although many at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire are cheering for Team USA in Pyeongchang, they're also rooting for their fellow student, Icelandic athlete Freydis Einarsdottir.

Einarsdottir, an alpine skier, will compete for her home country in the slalom and giant slalom events, which take place on Monday, Feb. 12, and Wednesday, Feb. 14.

She is one of three alpine skiers representing Iceland in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and the first Plymouth State University student to compete in the games.

"I have worked so hard for so long to reach this goal, and I am naturally very excited and honored to represent my country," Einarsdottir said in a statement. "But making the team does not mean I've reached my goals -- I want to do well there and ski as fast in my race as I do in my training."
