Teammates Motivated by Brady

What's so amazing about Brady is that he's maybe more fiery now than ever.

Tom Brady might be a pretty face, but it's a near certainty that anytime a camera finds him on the sidelines during a game, he's yelling about something. Whether it's a big play, trying to motivate his teammates or just blowing off steam, it's rare to see Brady relaxing on the bench.

And while it might seem like a bit much to the casual observer, Brady's teammates not only appreciate the energy, but they also feed off it. It's the culmination of all the hard work Brady puts into every play, dating back to offseason workouts and ending, hopefully, in another Lombardi Trophy.

“Everything he does, he wants it to be perfect,” Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork said on Wednesday, via “He strives for greatness. That’s your leader. That’s what you want to follow -- somebody that’s always going to strive to be great at whatever he does.”

At 37, and after 15 NFL seasons, you'd think Brady would be out of motivational ploys to get himself going before games. But that's what's so amazing; he's maybe more fiery now than ever.

“He is so competitive. That’s the first thing I always see,” Wilfork continued. “And everybody always asks me, ‘How is Tom?’ I don’t think there’s anybody else in this locker room that is more competitive than Tom.

    “I mean, I don’t care if it’s a conversation, I don’t care if it’s practice, I don’t care if it’s 7-on-7, I don’t care if it’s game day, I don’t care if it’s in the film room. He wants to be at his best.

“He wants everybody else around him to be at his best, so as a teammate, it’s easy to see my top leader coming to work, smiling, having fun and being at his best in the practice.”

And this might be Brady's best chance at another Super Bowl title. This team is arguably the best the Patriots have fielded since the 2007 squad went undefeated in the regular season before losing to the upstart Giants in the championship game.
