Fish Squished: Brady, Patriots Puts Dolphins in Their Place

In a beatdown that surely deflated presidential candidate Marco Rubio, Tom Brady and the Patriots utterly demolished the Dolphins.

Just four days after they beat their other division rivals, it was never close as New England knocked around Miami en route to a 36-7 victory and a 7-0 record.

Brady was unstoppable, throwing for four touchdowns and 356 yards on 26-38 passing. It almost seems like he was trying to one-up himself - he threw for exactly one yard more than he did Sunday against the Jets. That's right - Brady threw for 711 yards in two NFL wins in less than 100 hours.

Ridiculous.

Two of Brady's Thursday night touchdowns were to wide receiver Julian Edelman in the fourth quarter - he caught seven passes for 81 yards. Tight end Rob Gronkowski and running back Dion Lewis had six catches and a touchdown apiece, with Gronk going for 113 yards and Lewis for 93.

On the ground, the Patriots took a step forward from a hapless game against the Jets. LeGarrette Blount ran for 72 yards on 17 carries. Lewis added 19 rushing yards on five carries.

The Pats' ground defense was excellent, as well - Miami ran for just 15 yards.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill managed 300 yards of his own on 28/44 passing, but threw two picks and no touchdowns.

Kicker Stephen Gostkoski increased his successful field goal streak to 26 with two more on the night.

New England will look to remain undefeated at the half-season mark when they face Washington next Sunday at 1 p.m.
