Naked Man Spends Birthday in Jail After Causing Chaos at Va. Bar

The first problem was being naked, at a bar crawl in Arlington, Virginia.

But there was much more mayhem in store Saturday night when Arlington police tried to apprehend the naked guy, later identified by police as Charles Mack, 22, who was participating in the All American Bar Crawl on the day before his birthday.

The chaos started shortly after 8 p.m., when police responded to Goody's, a pizza place in the Clarendon neighborhood, for the report of a naked man.

When police approached, Mack ran away, jumping into a car and speeding off, they said.

Police said Mack drove down Wilson Boulevard in the wrong direction and hit several parked cars as he drove, before jumping out of the car and running again. That time, police caught him.

Mack was charged with indecent exposure, driving while intoxicated, disregarding police demands, three counts of hit and run, and one count of possession of narcotics.

He was arraigned Monday.

The capture understandably drew the attention of a large crowd, including the viewer who tweeted the picture below.

No one was injured.

Mack spent Sunday, his 23rd birthday, in jail.

Mack's father said the behavior was not normal for his son.

Police had about 50 officers montitoring the bar crawl, up from the usual 10 on the weekend, and the county manager is considering stricter regulations for crawl organizers, reported Northern Virginia Bureau's David Culver. The county board chairman expects the county manager's recommendation as soon as next month.
