Jeff Saperstone is a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter for NBC Boston and necn.
He joined the NBC Boston and necn family in May 2014.
Since joining the team, Jeff has covered several big stories, including Pope Francis’ historic visit to the United States, where he broadcast live from Philadelphia. He was also sent to Orlando to report on the attack at the Pulse nightclub. His reporting has taken him to all corners of New England.
Prior to Boston, Jeff worked at NBC Connecticut, where he was the station’s political reporter as well as fill-in anchor.
He conducted one-on-one interviews with Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy and retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman. He also led the station's coverage for President Barack Obama's four visits to the Nutmeg State.
Jeff was an integral part of the station's Peabody Award winning coverage from 2012.
He was also a key player in the station's coverage of two major storms, Sandy and Irene. Jeff traveled to Washington, D.C., as the only Connecticut television station to cover the federal investigation into why a commuter train derailed in Bridgeport. He was on the ground in New Hampshire for the first in the nation presidential primary, providing live continuing coverage.
Jeff came to Connecticut after spending seven years in Albany, New York, where he was a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor. His reporting was recognized by the Associated Press for a story about an in-depth look at what a specialized team of firefighters goes through to train.
He received his bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Ithaca College and the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
