A girl was injured when a large piece of ice flew off a tractor-trailer and hit the windshield of the vehicle she was riding in on Interstate 495 in Andover, Massachusetts on Thursday afternoon. State police said they received several calls reporting a large piece of ice flying off a tractor-trailer on I-495 north and smashing the windshield of a 2018 Toyota.

In the Granite State, they have Jessica’s Law, which was enacted in 2001 after Jessica Smith was killed when ice came off a truck and into another truck. The second truck hit her head on, and she died. Not clearing your vehicle off is considered negligent driving.
