Boston Athletes, Officials Join Forces on Thanksgiving
The city of Boston is making sure the homeless are not forgotten on Thanksgiving. Hundreds of volunteers, including sports legends and politicians, gathered at the Pine Street Inn to prepare and serve turkey dinners. Close to 800 pounds of mashed potatoes were served, 74 turkeys and 50 gallons of gravy. There was also 400 pounds of stuffing, 200 pounds of cranberry sauce and 205 assorted pies.

The Boston’s Children’s Theatre has canceled its classes and will close before its holiday performances, after its director’s resignation amidst misconduct charges. The theater group filed for bankruptcy Wednesday night, according to The Boston Globe.

The Reading Water Department recently detected E. coli bacteria in drinking water at a building located at 295 Salem Street. “As our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct this situation,” a news release from the town said. “On Thursday, officials collected routine samples at 10 locations throughout Reading.”
