Rural Vermont/Quebec Link Celebrated at Reopening Ceremony
Officials from both the U.S. and Canada gathered on a one-of-a-kind bridge in Vermont Monday to celebrate its reopening. A bridge first opened on the site in 1918, but was destroyed in the 1927 flood, said Joe Flynn, the secretary of the Vermont Agency of Transportation. That bridge was replaced in 1929, he said, and rebuilt again in 1979.
