Rainy Leftovers

November is the cloudiest month of the year, and this Thanksgiving certainly lived up to that billing. Snow showers scooted through Northern New England this morning, dropping a coating to 1" of snow in spots, while the rest of New England sat in the scattered showers and raw temperatures.

Focus overnight will be the threat for some wet snow from Northern and Western Mass. right up through Northern New England. Amounts will be light, but some roads could briefly become greasy.

Elsewhere, it's more showers...and fog. This will carry over to Friday for most, with a trend toward some drying in Western New England.

Big message of the day is the possibility we could get a jump on the sunshine in Southern New England. Some may actually poke out Saturday afternoon as our attention turns to the snow and rain in Maine.

A deepening storm Saturday night will toss a mix of rain and snow over Eastern and Northern Maine where 4-8 inches may fall north of Bangor and Augusta. Along and south of that line just a coating to a couple of inches is expected as the storm pulls away from Nova Scotia.

Long range, we're gearing up for milder temperatures (patience please) and a soaking rain by the middle of next week.

Happy and safe Thanksgiving everyone!
