The National Hurricane Center says we may have 75 mph wind here in the northeast, but not from a Hurricane. Sandy is forecast to become Post Tropical Storm Sandy. Here is an attempt to explain the difference between a pure tropical cyclone, and a 'Hybrid' cyclone. I am not sure how our home owners insurance feels about the difference though.. if you know, please share.
