(NECN) – Meteorologist Matt Noyes is tracking the tropics. There are a number of disturbances. There is a very well-developed tropical wave, south of Puerto Rico, that has an impressive symmetric structure with persistent thunderstorms. However, there is no circulation center yet, but it is likely to become a depression over South America and may even turn into a hurricane.
There are three impressive waves of thunderstorms, but wind shear aloft and dry Saharan air prohibiting development. It will be important to watch those over the next 72 hours.
