Two disturbances are affecting New England Thursday, though neither is all that impactful.
The first disturbance brought morning showers to the South Coast with rainbows at dawn ahead of the showers, but unable to move farther north. Meanwhile, the second disturbance is a cold front moving southward across New England that will provide enough of a wind shift and change of air to result in bubbling, puffy cumulus clouds Thursday.

Fair weather clouds should grow heavy enough to produce at least some isolated showers from Southern Maine and New Hampshire during the midday and early afternoon. The showers may affect southward through Boston around middle to late afternoon and Southeast Massachusetts to Rhode Island and Connecticut during the late day and evening.
Behind the cold front, the same cool and dry air that brought this morning’s low temperature to 37 degrees at Estcourt Station, Maine, will settle south and drop lows into the 30s for more valleys of the North Country Thursday night and 40s to 50s farther south across New England.
Friday looks pleasant, regionwide, before an approaching storm center from the west casts moisture onto New England, filling the sky with clouds Saturday and causing cool showers to develop from southwest to northeast Saturday morning to afternoon, respectively. However, parts of Maine will stay mostly dry much of the day.
By Sunday, warmer and more humid air will be in place, allowing for some sun, highs in the 80s for many, and scattered afternoon showers and storms.
