Winter Storm Moving East, Bringing Freezing Rain, Sleet

(NECN) - Oklahoma has gotten a brutal dose of winter weather for the past couple of days.

Parts of southwest Oklahoma got 10 inches of snow while other parts of the state got severe ice.

Ron Blome of The Weather Channel joined us from Oklahoma City with an update.

He said the highways are clearing out after light freezing rain made conditions slick.

He said workers did what they could to improve road conditions and that the storm is moving east.

Blome said, “The highway patrol here reported more than 650 accidents in three days and four fatalities.”

He said it is still a very dangerous storm with 13 fatalities nation-wide.
