Spring Showers Through Our Weekend, Warmer Weather

We have warmer weather and occasional spring showers through the weekend.

A weather boundary, separating cold in Canada and warm in much of the United States, is stretched out from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. This front will be impacting New England pretty much each day through Sunday.

Weak waves of low pressure will generate occasional showers or periods of light rain.

The temperature is starting off Friday morning warmer than we’ve seen in several days, near 40 degrees. We have many clouds and there are a few showers in Maine that will hit early. Another batch of rain is moving across New York and will cross central and southern New England during the midday and afternoon.

High temperature should make it into the 50s for most of us, although cooler near the Canadian border and south facing shorelines.

Wind from the south is gusting past 20 mph in southern New England, with light wind, tending to go northerly for northern New England.

As a wave of low pressure moves off this evening, we'll have a partial clearing in northern New England and remain rather cloudy south with a chance of fog and drizzle. Low-temperature overnight again near 40 degrees.

Saturday starts off gray for most of us. We should see breaks of sunshine in southern and eastern New England. Where the sun does break through, we should be able to warm past 60 degrees. Otherwise, we're in the 50s with showers west and north.

Colder air starts to work into northern Vermont Saturday night where rain may change to snow. Otherwise, it’s rather foggy with drizzle in a lot of spots, low temperature in the 40s.

Low pressure then moves south to north along the front and New England Sunday, with rain and eastern sections and rain changing to snow west. Temperatures may be in the 60s from eastern Massachusetts to Maine, while only in the 30s in Vermont. Rain may end his snow Sunday night as colder here comes in for April Fools' Day. The sun should be out Monday and

Tuesday, with a high 30s North and 40s south. Odds are increasing that there is a coastal storm around the middle of the week, temperatures will be marginal for rain or snow. We’ll keep you posted in our First Alert 10-Day Forecast.
