Back to Summer Heat This Week

Fall is only 27 days away, but it feels like we are in the heart of summer (not the end of it). Temperatures are heading for the 90s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Humidity levels will build, which will yield heat indices in the triple digits. Dangerous heat is a possibility. It’s likely that heat advisories or excessive heat warnings will be possible.

A cold front will drop temperatures and the humidity by the end of the week. It appears the progress of that cold front will be significantly slower. If this slowing trend continues, Thursday could be just as hot as Tuesday or Wednesday.

Once the cold front moves through, we will get a quick taste of autumn. Temperatures Friday and Saturday will stay in the mid 70s, which is slightly below average for this time of year.

Temperatures will ramp back up through the holiday weekend. By Labor Day, temperatures will be back in the middle 80s with muggy conditions. Unfortunately, the weather looks unsettled for the weekend. On and off showers and thunderstorms are possible.
