It’s been delightfully dry but the incoming front will draw up moisture from the south through the day Saturday, leading to increased humidity and a better chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorm development near the frontal boundary.
The rain doesn’t look all that impressive during the morning and early afternoon for far northern New England as the front sits fairly stationary along the Canadian border, but as it continues to draw up that moisture, it will fuel thunderstorms as the front moves southeast.
Temperatures start to climb Sunday and, combined with the increased humidity, will renew our chances of afternoon thunderstorms.
The heat is really on into early next week with temperatures back to around 90 degrees and dew point temperatures hovering around 70. This will keep thunderstorm potential in the forecast through Wednesday.
Temperatures cool slightly heading into next weekend but hover around the mid 80s.
