Brief Showers Coming Up in Some New England Areas, Have Umbrella Handy

Skies will stay mostly cloudy around Boston, and down towards Cape Cod and the Islands on Tuesday, with highs holding in the 70s courtesy of an onshore wind. There may be a sprinkle or spot shower in Southeastern Massachusetts, but it’s basically a dry day.

Highs will pop closer to 80 in Northern New England, where more sun develops following morning fog.

Wednesday turns far more humid as a gusty south-southwest wind fires up behind a warm front. That front will come through during the morning with a round of showers, downpours, and thunderstorms. Highs surge into the 80s as that happens.

Then during the afternoon, a cold front will approach. As it arrives into the muggy, warm air mass, a second round of showers, downpours and thunderstorms will develop.

So it won’t be raining all day, but you’ll need the umbrella on standby most of the day.

Any downpours and storms that develop will create some pockets of localized street flooding.

A beautiful stretch of weather then arrives late week, with refreshing and less humid air flowing in from Canada along with sunshine. Highs will be in the 70s to near 80.

That pattern takes us into the weekend. By then temperatures will again warm into the 80s.
