Beat the Heat at a Cooling Center or Pool in Massachusetts

We're in for another stretch of hot weather across New England. We're officially in a heat wave in Boston.

During the summer months, it's important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated. The seriousness of heat-related emergencies should not be underestimated.

Boston Centers for Youth & Families open cooling centers and pools when Mayor Walsh declares a heat emergency.

Please call the BCYF center before visiting to confirm the location's hours and availability.

Located above is also a full list of state-owned pools in Massachusetts.

You are encouraged to keep a close eye on the elderly and homeless populations and pets.

For more information anytime, residents can call the Mayor's Hotline at: (617) 635-4500.

A heat wave is a prolonged period of excessive heat, often combined with excessive humidity.
