First Heat Wave of 2016 on the Way

After a cloudy, damp and cool weekend, get ready for the heat to return. Most of New England received a much needed rainfall this weekend. It wasn't enough rain to put an end to the drought, but it will be enough to green up your lawn (actually, it might need a cut soon).

Monday, the sunshine returns. The heat will lag by a day - we kick off the week with temperatures in the upper 70s. Tuesday, the heat and humidity return. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s, but I'm expecting the heat wave to start Wednesday - the first 90 degree day of the stretch. We've only had two 90 degree days so far this season.

The 90 degree heat will likely continue into the weekend. With the humidity it will feel even warmer - the "feels like" temperatures will reach 100 degrees. This will be a dangerous heat --- stay hydrated, exercise early or late in the day and wear light colored and loose fitting cloths.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible starting by Friday.
