Fourth of July Weekend Weather Preview

Sunshine prevails for Friday with highs around 80 for most, with temps slightly cooler near the coast as a light prevailing wind allows for a sea breeze to develop.

Friday evening fireworks look phenomenal, weather-wise, as quiet conditions and temperatures in the 60s are expected ahead of a partly cloudy night in the 50s for most.

Meanwhile, the same wavering and wobbling feed of moisture to the south of New England that delivered a few Thursday night showers to cape cod will wiggle north again Saturday, in concert with an energetic disturbance moving overhead. The combination of nearing moisture and passing energy aloft will mean increasing clouds Saturday, with a few afternoon showers in western New England expanding east as scattered showers during the evening and temperatures held in the 70s beneath the clouds. This means those with outdoor plans Saturday should plan on overcast skies and be prepared for a few showers to fall later in the day. Fireworks time Saturday evening still will feature some areas of showers, mostly in southern New England and especially the closer one is to the south coast.

Sunshine and warmth returns on Sunday with highs in the middle 80s, and summer warmth continues with building humidity into the start of next week, until eventually middle and late week storms come calling.
