We seem to be in the summer of storms. Even on the nice days there are thunderstorms. Friday was pretty good weather, but then a series of thunderstorms crossed from Vermont to Hampshire, and Maine. There were even a couple near New York City and Long Island.
This time the storms are due to instability in the atmosphere more than tropical moisture being around like earlier in the week. Now, today we have another front moving in from Canada that once again triggers showers and a chance of a thunderstorm.
After a mostly sunny start, clouds will rapidly build with a shower or thunderstorm by midday in northern New England, then during the afternoon scattered around southern New England. Most of the time it’s not raining, but when it does it can rain hard for a minute or two. And there can be a thunderstorm.
The air is relatively dry, it’s just very unstable, that is cold air aloft, the freezing level is near seven thousand feet.
High temperature today will be near 80 degrees south, to only 60s in the hills of northern New England.
Wind from the west is gusting past 20 mph. The most sunshine is at the beach, with a low tide early this afternoon, making for a nice beach day.

High pressure from Canada should really clean out the atmosphere Saturday night, with a beautiful moon between the planets Jupiter and Saturn.
Temperatures fall to the 50s to near 60 in southern New England, and 40s and 50s north, with some isolated upper 30s in the colder spots toward the Canadian border.
Sunday we may actually have a storm-free day in New England, with partly to mostly sunny skies high temperature in the 70s to low 80s. Wind from the west will diminish during the afternoon.

High-pressure gets south of us on Monday. With a return of warmer air, high temperatures will be well into the 80s with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm late.
Another front from Canada comes in Monday night and Tuesday with showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures Tuesday in the 70s north, low 80s south.
This front to may stall near southern New England with a wave of low pressure continuing to bring a chilly rain to southeastern New England the first part of Wednesday.
Otherwise it looks like we should have some clearing and cooler weather with partly sunny skies Wednesday and high in the 70s.
The second half of the week features of front stalled nearby, with seasonable temperatures and chance of a shower thunderstorm each afternoon going into next weekend.
