If you aren’t a fan of winter, spring is only hours away! The official start to spring is Wednesday at 5:58 p.m.
Although the calendar will say spring, this morning starts off cold. Temperatures will start off in the upper 20s. With a higher sun angle and more daylight, we should recover nicely from our cold morning. High temperatures will reach the upper 40s and low 50s on both today and Thursday.
Sunshine will be around for much of the day Wednesday. On Thursday, it's looking to be more and more unsettled. A coastal storm is likely.
NBC10 Boston and necn meteorologists have declared a First Alert for the threat of heavy, wet mountain snow that could result in power outages. This threat could particularly take aim in Vermont.
This will be a very terrain driven snow and totals will quickly drop off in the lower elevations of northern New England.
Without much cold air in place, the chances for snow are pretty low. It’s possible that the higher elevations of New England could switch to snow after an initial round of rain.
Wind doesn’t look like a big problem. However, with astronomically high tide, rising sea level and onshore wind, minor to pockets of coastal flooding will be likely Thursday and Friday. At this point, it will be the early afternoon high tides that should bring the greatest impact.

Our weekend starts off a bit gloomy, but it does get brighter and warmer by Sunday. High temperatures will start off in the low 40s on Saturday but end in the low 50s by Sunday.
For the following week, seasonable temperatures return. Unsettled weather is possible in the form of showers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures will reach the mid-40s to low 50s and overnight lows will drop to the freezing mark.
