Hazy, Hot, Humid Weather Builds Across New England

Sunday will be hot and humid, with highs for many around 90

Hazy, hot, and humid weather returns to New England over the next few days, allowing for another heat wave in some communities.

A few downpours and storms developed today, even producing a bit of small hail in Western Massachusetts, but that activity fizzles tonight and skies will clear. Winds turn around to the south so it becomes more humid with lows in the 60s to near 70.

Sunday will be hot and humid, with highs for many around 90. An approaching cold front will trigger more downpours and storms in Northern New England during the afternoon. A lot of that activity will weaken by the time it arrives in Southern New England around dinner time or sunset, but a few storms will survive the trip.

Both Monday and Tuesday are similar, with very humid air and highs near 90. Each day will feature a spot storm, but many places will stay dry.

Wednesday and Thursday bring a better chance of more widespread downpours as a second cold front approaches. Not only will that bring some rain, but it will drop our temperatures and humidity by week’s end.
