Weekend Sun Fades to Monday Rain

Early showers continue to pull away from New England, leaving us with a fair amount of sunshine for the rest of the day. A few clouds will return to the mountains of Northern New England this afternoon, with a spot shower there, but the rest of us will be dry with highs mainly in the 70s.

A few spots will be around 80 in Western New England, farther away from our onshore wind. That wind will be gusty at times for the Cape and Islands.

Skies turn mostly cloudy again for all of us tonight, with lows primarily in the 50s and 60s.

Monday will also be mostly cloudy and cool courtesy of an onshore wind. Highs will only reach the 60s and 70s with periods of rain. Some of the rain will fall heavily at times, particularly south of Boston.

Temperatures holds in the 60s and 70s on Tuesday, with lingering clouds and a few showers too, before we get a break with nicer conditions Wednesday.

We then again turn unsettled Thursday and Friday.
