Cool Tuesday Ahead of Warm-Up

Tuesday expected to be the coolest day in the 10-day forecast

[NECN] Weather Forecast: Slightly Cooler Tuesday

After a bit of a cooldown on Tuesday, temperatures rebound nicely by the end of the week for a spring-like feel.

    (Published Monday, March 25, 2019)

Temperatures were seasonable this Monday after a cold frontal passage. The clouds tapered off from north to south and the sprinkles moved away.

We have a pleasant evening in store, but it will be a colder night as more cold air drains in from the north. Overnight lows dip into the 20s for most across New England under a mostly clear sky.

Highs on Tuesday will be 5-10 degrees cooler, in the low 40s and upper 30s to the north, despite the sunshine. This is our coolest day in our 10-day.

Wednesday will bring more seasonable highs in the upper 40s with more sun. High pressure builds and will move farther east of us for the end of the work week, so a southwest wind direction change will combine with the March sun angle to boost temperatures into the mid-50s Thursday, near 60 by Friday.

Clouds increase and there is a cold front that will approach our region Friday into Saturday. The question still remains whether or not the frontal boundary moves all the way through New England, or if it stalls out near us.

We are leaning towards the cold front pushing through by Sunday, but stalling to our south. So temperatures go from the low 60s Saturday, to the 50s Sunday through next Wednesday. Repeated rain chances linger in the extended 10-day forecast too.
