Play Ball! Sunny, Windy and Chilly Opening Day at Fenway Park

More chances for snow this weekend

It's a sunny day at Fenway Park, too bad the wind is gusting past 30 mph keeping the wind chill factor near freezing today.

We are now on the cold side of yesterdays storm, damaging wind gusts from overnight are diminishing today.

With full sunshine, temperatures warm only to the 30s north and 40s south. Wind from the northwest is gusting past 30 mph.

A warm front approaches late tonight and early tomorrow, clouds returning, low temperature tonight wil be in the 10s and 20s.

A warm front will attempt to push temperatures up on Friday, but it comes with a batch of snow changing to rain.

Snow arrives in Connecticut early Friday morning, and races to Maine by afternoon. For any one location it's only two or three hours of snow, but it may drop 2 to 3 inches. And where the snow arrives first, in Connecticut, the afternoon temperature may be close to 60 degrees! For most of Vermont, northern New Hampshire, and Maine, it may snow into the evening with the mountains getting more like 3 to 5 inches.

A cold front comes in Friday evening with rain showers which may change back to snow before ending early Saturday in much of southern New England. That is, is the snow ends at all, because there's a chance for another wave of low pressure bringing more snow to southern New England Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Toward the Canadian border, after the Friday snow ends, it's just windy and cold this weekend.

If you're going skiing think wintry cold wind as temperatures never reach above freezing on the mountains.

In southern New England, we have to watch out for those periods of snow and rain and fine-tune the forecast as it gets closer.

Additionally, another storm of my feature both snow and rain in New England Tuesday which may last until Wednesday.
