Rain Likely in the Mix for Wednesday

Another batch of showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible overnight

Another batch of showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible overnight. Temperatures won't get a chance to drop much — most areas will stay in the 60s.

It will be an extremely difficult temperature forecast Wednesday. Parts of northern New England will stay in the 40s Wednesday afternoon while southern New England could be well into the 80s. It's difficult for warm fronts to clear New England this time of year.

Temperatures will be much cooler for the remainder of the week. Thursday through Saturday, temperatures look to stay in the 50s. The last time Boston stayed in the 50s was May 29.

After the warm summer and September we experienced, this will certainly be a shock to the system.

Rain is likely Wednesday and Thursday. Locally heavy rain is possible in fact, but it's still too early to see where it will set up. Brighter times are likely by Friday and Saturday should be back to full sunshine.

We will see some slightly milder air return to the region by Sunday. Temperatures will return to seasonable levels with showers returning as well. Stay tuned!
