Rain Moving Out, Leaving Plenty of Sunshine for This Weekend

A weak wave of low pressure on the same front that has been around all week brought another batch of rain is heavy at times for a few hours this morning, with local rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches along the south coast.

Normally this is not enough for flooding, but this is the third round of heavy rain in four days and the ground is saturated, so we experienced a few spots of minor flooding once again. The wave of low pressure being tracked along the south coast will be east of Cape Cod by sunset.

Though rain is ending, we will have many clouds and a breeze from the north, many of us may not warm out of the 50s in southern New England this afternoon. Where skies are brighter north, we are in the 60s to near 70.

The good news is high pressure from Canada brings in mostly dry air and seasonable temperatures this weekend. A weak front in Vermont may generate a shower or two tomorrow then we all have slightly cooler air Sunday. It looks like a few clouds mixing with sunshine at The Patriots Game Sunday afternoon.

Our next rain maker is with a warm front Monday and Tuesday, hopefully without more flooding, followed by warmer weather the middle and second half of next week.
