Red Sox Head To Europe Amid Record Temperatures

Temperatures will get to around 100 degrees throughout mainland Europe this weekend

The Red Sox head to London this weekend, just as Europe bakes under record heat.

Temperatures in the upper 90s to around 100 will be common this week in countries like Spain, France, Germany, and Italy.

The warm air is surging up from North Africa, and is already setting records in some cities.

London, where the Red Sox take on the Yankees, will cruise well into the 80s for the game on Saturday. By Sunday temperatures will drop into the 70s.

Thousands died during a prolonged European heat wave in 2003. The heat is made worse by the fact that air conditioning is not nearly as widespread in Europe as it is here in the United States.
